Left at the Bottom of the Garden Kickstarter now live!

 Hi folks,

I'm very happy to say I've launched a new Statuesque Miniatures Kickstarter – Left at the Bottom of the Garden Chapter Three.

This campaign is to fund the production of seven high quality, lead-free metal miniatures, each depicting a cloth creature. Following on from LatBotG Chapters One and Two, our intrepid lost toys have met a new group of toys deep in the forest: a pair of cloth wolves, the boisterous peerie woos and the mysterious twills o' the wisp.

As with my previous Kickstarters, the production moulds are made, tested and ready to spin. With your help I can order the necessary metal, get casting and send a load of wee ghosts off around the world.

The Kickstarter runs until 11pm BST on Thursday the 4th of August.

Please do take a look – all pledges are very much appreciated. These toys are the things I enjoy sculpting the most and it will make me very happy to send them out into the world.

The Ghosts of Yellowfield House Kickstarter

Hi folks,

I'm very happy to say I've just launched a new Statuesque Miniatures Kickstarter – The Ghosts of Yellowfield House.

The campaign is to fund the release of three ghosts - Eleanor Ganfer, Deirdre and Mr Swither - plus an optional, separate base on which to display them. As with my previous Kickstarters, the production moulds are made, tested and ready to spin. With your help I can order the necessary metal, get casting and send a load of wee ghosts off around the world.

The Kickstarter runs until 11pm BST on Tuesday 5th of October.

Please do take a look – all pledges are very much appreciated. This is the first set of figures where I've done everything myself, from sculpting and printing to moulding and casting, and I can't wait to share them with everyone!

Left at the Bottom of the Garden Chapter Two Kickstarter now LIVE!

“The old woman fussed and busied about her home. At her feet, three cloth kittens scampered and played as she swept the floor, stoked the fire and straightened the furniture. They were to have visitors. Bundled out of the cottage by the old woman, the kittens darted through the rain and across the clearing to the shelter of the woodshed. A low mournful moan slid through the slatted wood of the shed. The kittens looked at each other, then bolted straight back to the house. Small pebble eyes watched them go.”

I'm very happy to say that my second Kickstarter has now launched, to fund the production of another set of lost toys. Following on from last year's Kickstarter for Olive, Clementine and friends, this year we meet the old woman who lives in the woods, her various cloth cats and the troll that lives in her woodshed. And a toy robin.

It's quite a short campaign this time, ending on the 10th of September, and everything is in place for swift fulfilment.

Please do take a look – I've enjoyed making the Left at the Bottom of the Garden toys more than anything else I've done and I really hope you like them!

Left at the Bottom of the Garden Pre-Order now shipping - order now to get them at this price!

I'm happy to say the Pre-Orders for the Left at the Bottom of the Garden figures are now shipping. However, time is running out to get the toys at the Kickstarter/Pre-Order prices!

You have until the 18th of August to grab them at the current prices. I've not decided the final prices yet, but expect a slight increase on certain sets.

If you are a Kickstarter backer, I've now posted all rewards to backers who have paid for postage by completing the Pledge Manager through the Statuesque webshop. There are still a number of backers to complete this; full details can be found HERE, HERE and HERE in the Kickstarter updates.

Your toys are ready and waiting to be posted once the postage payment is made. :)

I've been making progress on sculpting the toys for Chapter Two of Left at the Bottom of the Garden. The old woman who lives in the woods is almost finished - just some small details and base texture to go. She has lots of cats and something locked in the woodshed.

Keep an eye out on the Statuesque Facebook and Twitter pages for more updates about Chapter Two!

Left at the Bottom of the Garden Kickstarter continues!

Hi everyone.

The Left at the Bottom of the Garden Kickstarter is still going strong as we enter the final few days. The level of support has been really gratifying and it's great to have so many home for these odd little toys to go to.

The support has also encouraged me to continue sculpting for this range - I want to tell the story of Olive, Clementine and their friends as they venture into the woods. So even though we've reach and exceeded the funding target, every pledge really helps and is really appreciated as it will speed up the process of telling that story in a later Kickstarter - no waiting to save money for prints and mastering.

As you can see above, I've been painting away to hopefully get the full set painted before the end of the Kickstarter. It's been a fun process trying out new ways of painting (lots of splatter). Now I've just got the hoodie crows to finish!

You can see more photos both in the Kickstarter updates and on the Statuesque Facebook and Twitter pages.

As always, all shares, comments and likes on social media - along with forum posts and just telling your friends - are much appreciated and really do help.

Thanks!

Left at the Bottom of the Garden now LIVE on Kickstarter

I'm very pleased to announce Statuesque Miniatures' first ever Kickstarter - Left at the Bottom of the Garden - is now live. The miniatures in question - a motley collection of lost toys - are something quite different in style and purpose from my usual work and that's why I've gone to Kickstarter to help reach as many people as possible. With your help, I can get production rolling and the toys can venture out into the world.

Measuring approximately 14mm to 32mm tall, the Left at the Bottom of the Garden miniatures represent a group of lost toys who have left the garden to venture into the dark woods. I sculpted the miniatures with tabletop gaming, painting and collecting in mind. In particular, I wanted them to be nice little objects in themselves, needing no glue, no assembly beyond normal casting clean-up and no plastic bases. They have bold, chunky details meaning they can be easily painted or finished however you wish.

All photos show production castings of the miniatures (albeit prepped and given a coat of boot polish to bring out the details), so if the Kickstarter is successful I'll be ready to start casting your miniatures immediately. There won't be any stretch goals or additional items added during the course of the campaign - I don't want anything to delay fulfilment.

There are three pledge levels available:

  • Choose Your Toys - Any set or sets from the Add On list on the Kickstarter page.
  • All the Toys £20 - All nine Left at the Bottom of the Garden miniatures.
  • Fancy Toys £35 - All nine miniatures hand-finished by me to match the display miniatures in the photos. This will involve the removal of any casting artefacts, a light buffing, ageing with boot polish to bring out the details and a coat of lacquer. This pledge level is limited to 10 backers.
The Kickstarter will run until 11pm BST on Thursday the 6th of June.

If these odd little miniatures are up your street, please do consider backing the campaign - it would be really appreciated. This has been a very enjoyable project to work on, though I've genuinely no idea if anyone will want what I've created!

Also, any shares, likes and comments on social media are very helpful, as is telling anyone you think might be interested about the campaign. If you regularly post on any forums or Facebook groups, sharing there would be fantastic too!

I'll be posting regular updates throughout the campaign, particularly as I'm planning on getting each of the miniatures painted during that time. I'm almost there with the two cloth dolls Olive and Clementine and their beanbag cat Little Puss.

If you're not a backer, the best way to follow those updates will be to  keep an eye on the Statuesque Facebook page and Twitter feed.

Thanks!

Andrew

Preview: Left at the Bottom of the Garden

Left at the Bottom of the Garden is Statuesque Miniatures' new range of lost toys, a ragtag group who have come to life and are wandering through the woods. I've been working on this range for the past few months and soon I'll be taking it to Kickstarter to help fund the launch.

The prints prior to master moulding.
The launch range will consist of two cloth dolls and their beanbag cat, three singing toy rats, a toy penguin and two toy hoodie crows. The sculpting, printing and master casting is all done and now I'm working my way through making the production moulds. I'm planning on having everything bar the production casting done prior to the Kickstarter launch so there won't be any unforeseen delays.

The master castings.
So far, this has been one of the most satisfying projects I've worked on and I'm really pleased with this initial set of toys. Indeed, I've already started work on the next chapter of Left at the Bottom of the Garden, so fingers crossed the Kickstarter will be successful so I can continue enjoying myself sculpting odd little toys!

I'm hoping to be ready to go in the next few weeks. I'll be sure to post here when the Kickstarter is live and don't forget to keep an eye on the Statuesque Facebook and Twitter pages for the latest info.
